It’s now been one month where Chanya has been running the Salon, so I thought it was a good time to go back around and see how things are going. She certainly takes a lot of pride in her work and she puts in long hours, but she also seems very satisfied that she can stand proud and say she is a business owner. This whole social ladder climbing thing happens everywhere but it really stands out in the Thailand cultural scene especially for the 3rd gender who are very limited in their vocational goals.
Anyway, I drop off a couple of things that she couldn’t take around on the scooter, then I head off to the Mall to check out a couple of things.
