We were invited to this opening by Kookai, who we met the previous Sunday. They had a reasonably up-scale presentation at the Expo, so we thought it might be worth a visit to see their operation. Kana has a specific focus on the plant genus for the pharmaceutical industry as all their plantations are strictly controlled environments to create the strongest strains. There was an inferred claim that their farms are pest-free and use a minimum of sprays to keep the plants free of pesticides. This does add costs to the farming process, which is evident in the prices listed for the final product.
