The Pattaya Trip Begins | Getting There is Half the Battle!

My Pattaya adventure begins! But first, I had to survive the long journey down—and Chanya wasn’t exactly thrilled about it! 😂

The video starts at home, where Chanya gives me her best evil look at the mere mention of Pattaya. From there, I pick it up again at Jerry’s condo, as we set off in his car for the two-hour drive—or at least, it should have been two hours. Traffic on Sukhumvit Road was brutal, and to make things worse, our GPS sent us on a mystery detour that added unnecessary time and frustration to the trip. Gotta love technology!

We finally arrived at the Golden Sea Hotel, a place I’ve stayed before. It’s still clean and affordable, but you can see the years catching up with it. One surprising find was that massages in Pattaya are about half the price of Bangkok suburbs—probably thanks to the sheer amount of competition here.

After getting settled, we headed off to meet our Aussie friends at their hotel and then set out for a much-needed dinner. This is just Part 1 of my Pattaya series, so stay tuned for more wandering, eating, and nightlife coming up soon!
