Big C Night Run – Tammour Dinner & “Cabbage Talk” in the Thai Suburbs
This Big C night run is a very normal evening out in the Thai suburbs — dinner, a bit of real talk, and our weekly shopping run.
Chanya finishes work and gets home around 5pm (on her day off… somehow 😄), and plans change as usual — we end up heading out for something quick and easy for dinner.
In the car, I share a bit of my own drama for the day: wrestling with tech, ChatGPT, and trying to get Streamer.Bot behaving properly. You know the type of day — everything should work, but the universe politely disagrees.
We roll into Big C and Chanya chooses Tammour for dinner — a great Isan-style spot. While we’re seated and browsing the menu, we chat about a topic that’s been floating around lately — what we jokingly call “cabbage talk”.
There’s been a lot of noise online about thousands of shops being “shut down”, but we break it down in a more realistic way: what’s actually happening in day-to-day Thailand life, why some businesses simply don’t renew paperwork, and why not everything has a dramatic headline behind it.
Real Thailand Life (Not the Internet Version)
This is the part I actually enjoy sharing the most — what it feels like living out here in the suburbs, where life is practical and people adapt fast. Shops open, shops close, paperwork comes and goes, and most of the time it’s not a conspiracy… it’s just Thailand being Thailand.
And that’s why we keep making these unscripted videos. Not to argue with headlines, but to show what’s happening on the ground in a calm, everyday way.
Then we wrap the night with the usual weekly shopping, and head home.
As always — it’s not scripted, it’s not clickbait… it’s just life here as it really is.
