17 Years Later ðđðâĪïļ | A Simple Valentineâs Night
This yearâs Valentineâs Day in Thailand wasnât about expensive gifts or dramatic surprises. Instead of guessing what to buy, I convinced Chanya to take the afternoon off so we could head out for dinner and a little shopping together.
We visit The Spheres Phetkasem, wander around looking for parking, and settle into the easy rhythm that has defined our life together for 17 years. No fancy dinner plans. Just food, tea, and time.
Chanya considers Shabu, gets distracted by YodCha (Chiang Mai chai tea), and nearly walks into a water feature. We grab iced drinks â huge cups for only 60 baht â and talk about our âweird lifeâ: she works, I play games. Somehow, that balance works for us.
As we wander the mall, I reflect on something important â weâre not in each otherâs face every day. That space might be one reason weâve lasted this long. Living in Thailand has its quirks, but sharing ordinary days like this is what makes it meaningful.
Over ramen and basil chicken, the conversation drifts into YouTube policy frustrations, changing rules, and how content platforms evolve. From there, it naturally moves into our longer story â from 2009 to now â and how AI first entered my life in 2016.
For us, Valentineâs Day in Thailand is less about flowers and more about simple presence. Chanya takes the camera for a bit and gives a short Thai lesson, and we finish the evening at Eve and Boy where she picks up a few things she actually wanted â practical, not extravagant.
If youâre new here and curious how this journey started back in 2009, you can read more about our story on our About Us page.
A simple Valentineâs night. No drama. Just 17 years and counting.
