Lunch Deals, Massage Bargains, Car Wash Cats & Don Wai Water Levels – Thailand Daily Life
This Thailand daily life vlog isn’t about beaches or nightlife. Most days here are about real life: eating, shopping, errands, and looking after family. Today we start at Luxe Taste Café, which I quickly realise is a popular university hangout near Mahidol Uni. The portions are huge, the prices are low, and the vibe is pure student fuel.
Over lunch, I share a story that caught my eye this week — a reminder that what you see in the media doesn’t always match everyday culture in Thailand, especially when it comes to transgender women. Out here in the suburbs, life is mostly about getting on with things, helping family, and treating people with basic respect. A little kindness goes a long way.
From there, the vlog shifts into full Thailand daily life mode: we pick up Mum for a shopping run, talk about massage bargains, roll through a car wash with lazy car wash cats supervising, and check the water levels near Don Wai to see how the river is behaving this season. It’s not glamorous, but it’s exactly what living in Thailand really looks like behind the tourist brochures.
If you’re new here and want to know more about who we are, you can read our story on the About Us – Retiring in Thailand page, where we explain how this whole Thailand journey began.
