Phra Nakhon Khiri Palace in Phetchaburi

So I was driving through Ban Na Lom in Phetchaburi and Chai suggested we stop off at the Phra Nakhon Khiri Palace. I actually wanted to visit the Tham Khao Luang Temple Cave but I got outvoted. The Phra Nakhon Khiri Palace is one of the top destinations when visiting Phetchaburi as it was one of the summer palaces for King Rama IV so has a significant cultural standpoint.

One of the special attractions here is the cable car that takes you up the mountain to the actual palace. Not a bad piece of engineering in my opinion. If you do go here, make sure you drink plenty of fluids as there are quite a few steps to contend with. Also, watch your possessions as there are plenty of cleptomaniac monkeys that will steal anything lose and you’ll never catch them.

Here’s a link to the photo’s I took on my last visit here in 2013

And the google map pin for Phra Nakhon Khiri (Khao Wang)
