Our very good friend Nick Dean has opened a bar in Soi Chalermphrakiat (Soi chaiyapoon), commonly known as soi pothole given the condition of the road. We’ve been following the progress of the preparation for quite some time through numerous Facebook posts he has done. This was a perfect opportunity to take a road trip down to Pattaya and be part of the opening night.
As you may have seen in the last vlog, Chanya bought a new dress just for the event. I do think she felt a little uncomfortable there with all the farang at the bar, but after a few drinks, she settled into the zone. Even after 3 years of filming our life together, she still feels unsettled when meeting people who follow us. They seem to know all about us and she has no clue who these people are. I get that too, but I’m quite used to it now.
As for the nightlife and event, it was a wonderful time to meet some long-time subscribers for the first time. There was a bit of a snag with the tables arriving late, but as we say, this is Thailand!
