Christmas in Thailand – A Quiet Lunch Date, Cafes & Mall Life

This Christmas in Thailand video is our Christmas Eve lunch and shopping day, spent quietly and naturally — just the way we like it. No big plans, no rushing, just a calm slice of everyday Thai life.

We start at home with Chanya helping me decide what I should wear, before heading out for lunch. As we approach the restaurant, the building immediately stands out — a striking, futuristic stacked triangle design that feels completely out of place among the surrounding rice fields, but oddly impressive at the same time.

Parking turns into a bit of a walk (apparently I should’ve parked closer), and as we enter The Communes, the contrast between modern architecture and rural surroundings really hits. Even the menu is a pleasure to read — light food, café-style options, and a relaxed, unhurried feel.

Chanya changes our table in search of better light (and then decides it’s still not right), which leads me into a short reflection on where our channel is heading. The main channel is now firmly focused on lifestyle, while deeper conversations and community-driven content are happening over on Patreon, where we’re slowly building something more personal.

Lunch arrives — including a surprisingly good Coffee Shakerto — and we take time to explore the interior space. It makes me wonder why so many foreigners still choose busy city living over quieter lifestyles like this, especially when places like this exist just outside Bangkok.

After a genuinely good Italian meal, we head back to the car and decide, almost on a whim, to finish the day with some last-minute Christmas shopping at Central Salaya. Inside the mall, Chanya makes a direct run for LYN handbags, while I get distracted by appliances, as usual.

The day wraps up with Chanya scoring two new handbags for Christmas and a gentle call to action as we head home. Nothing flashy — just a calm Christmas Eve in Thailand.
