Christmas in Thailand is not a major cultural event, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate it our way! With restaurants and shops open as usual, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the festive spirit with a delicious meal and some holiday shopping.
Our Christmas Day adventure takes us to Mayawe Restaurant in Salaya, known for its incredible seafood. I was craving Sea Bass, while Chanya couldn’t resist her favourite prawns. Of course, she picked the location and added her signature commentary during the drive. The food was fantastic, but it was a quiet day at the restaurant—perhaps because many Thais were dining at home or at their favourite street food spots.
After lunch, we went to Central Plaza Salaya to pick out Chanya’s Christmas gift. She had her heart set on a new handbag, and I wanted to ensure she found the perfect one. Shopping for the holidays in Thailand is always an experience, and we wrapped up the day with smiles and some festive cheer.
