My Challenges Moving to Thailand | Mental Hurdles & Expat Survival

Have you ever wondered what it takes to move to Thailand? In this video, I dive into my journey of relocating to the Land of Smiles. The video starts with a casual chat over drinks at Suzy’s bar during our monthly meetup at the Down Under Bar. The guys were sharing their unique stories about what brought them to Thailand, and, of course, they wanted to know mine. While I’ve touched on this in past videos, my friend Jerry insisted I share it again—so here we are!

Filmed at home the next day over my morning coffee, I reflect on the mental and emotional challenges I faced during my big move. While the paperwork and visa process was relatively straightforward (at least for me), the real hurdles were adapting to a new life, finding reliable expat friends, and building a support network in a foreign country.

Whether you’re considering moving to Thailand or just curious about expat life, I hope my story sheds light on the realities of taking such a big leap. From leaving behind the safety net to embracing a whole new culture, moving abroad is both exciting and daunting—but the rewards can be incredible.

Join me as I share my experiences, lessons learned, and advice for anyone dreaming of a new life in Thailand or anywhere abroad.
