Sometimes you can be surprised by what happens in Thailand. Arriving late for an appointment in Australia was always considered bad form, but in Thailand, it is the normal process and you should get used to it. Then there is the exception to the Thai way where they ring you and tell you they will be early and that can surprise you. We opened the house for the installers 30 minutes before they were expected to arrive and we sat around for 7 hours while they did their work. It was a long day, but we now have 3 working air-conditioners so we can cool off while other things are done before we move in.
