Our Suburb: Don Wai

Join me on a laid-back Monday afternoon as I explore our suburban neighbourhood of Don Wai, just 25 kilometres (15 miles) west of central Bangkok. When I ran out of milk for my coffee, it gave me the perfect excuse to take a quick trip to the nearby 7-Eleven convenience store, only 2km away. Along the way, I’ll glimpse the unique charm of suburban living in Thailand.

One of the key highlights of our area is the Wat Don Wai temple and the famous Don Wai Floating Market, which I briefly stopped by during this short tour. This area is a quintessential example of Thai-style living, offering a rich blend of culture, history, and local flavours. Whether you’re considering moving to Thailand or just curious about life beyond the city, this video provides a window into what it’s like to live in a suburban area that perfectly balances tranquillity with easy access to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

If you’re interested in affordable housing, you’ll be pleased to know that renting a spacious 3-bedroom house in this area is surprisingly budget-friendly—especially if you have the right local connections. So come along with me on this journey, and let’s explore the charm of suburban Bangkok together.
