Sometimes the best plans are the unplanned ones! 🌤️ We set out for lunch at a new café but ended up having a riverside lunch in Thailand at Tara Terrace — a stunning restaurant on the Tha Chin River near our home. The river’s still at peak height, but the floating pontoon deck is solid — and the views are as peaceful as ever.

The menu here is beautifully presented, with a mix of Thai-style appetizers and creative mains that you can easily turn into a shared feast. As we were leaving, I couldn’t help noticing something unusual — it was lunchtime, yet the restaurant was far quieter than this time last year. Normally, the place is packed as the cool season and tourist season begin, but not this year. The media keeps saying everything’s back to normal, yet on the ground… it doesn’t quite feel that way.
