Thailand Gossip Over Lunch | Air Quality, Tourism & Thai Life

Thailand gossip over lunch is one of our favourite formats — a mix of good food, small chaos, and whatever weird headlines are floating around this week.

This week’s video is another slice of our everyday life in Thailand — lunch, laughs, local talk, and the usual weekly errands.

Chanya chooses another Thai kitchen restaurant and we head to Kitchen Mae Cham, where we instantly appreciate the air-conditioning. While browsing the menu, she suddenly decides I should try garlic frog… which I politely decline. I’m not French 😄

I take a quick moment to remind everyone this channel is about our real life here, with a simple call to action, and then I ask the most important question of the day: coffee. The machine is broken (again). If 2026 is going to be a “weird year”, it’s definitely starting with everything breaking down.

While Chanya focuses intensely on ordering, I scroll my feed and run through a quick roundup of the latest Thailand gossip headlines — construction safety, tourism talk, political chatter, Bangkok air quality, luxury flex stories, and even the Dugong situation.

Right as I’m starting one of the topics… Chanya pranks me and I completely lose my concentration. Classic.

Lunch arrives (squid, fish soup, satay pork, fried rice), and we head out — with a quick nod to the ongoing challenge of living in Thailand: trying to keep your weight under control when the food is this good.

On the way out I spot a rare sight — a classic Harley Davidson loaded with chrome (and yes, I briefly mistake it for an Indian… so much chrome!)

We then stop by the PEA again because my app still can’t read the electricity bill QR code. Just another example of how Thailand works… or doesn’t.

We finish the day at Big-C, loading up the weekly shopping and ending with a general call to arms.
