I do have reoccurring questions about the retirement visa for the long-term stay in Thailand and although I have covered the topic in the past, I’ve again brought it back up for comment and further questions from our viewers. This question regarding the Thailand Retirement Visa and Permanent Residency has come up from a few viewers over the last few weeks so it seems like a good time to cover it again.

Chanya & Wazza's Adventures in Thailand Set your dreams into action and retire early.
Informative vid, Wazza. I am a tad confused by a comment you made during the vid about age. It sounded like you said the Thai’s would not give a retirement visa if you are over the age of 60 or 70. I read through the Thai Embassy website for Canada and did not read anything about an age limit. Just the minimum age, 50, and required financial assets.
Could you please clarify what you meant? Tx
Oh, that was about the health insurance issue requirement of the retirement visa. They have now made it mandatory that you need health insurance to obtain and renew your OA retirement visa. The problem with this is that most health insurers will not give you coverage if you are over 70 and some will refuse coverage over the age of 60. If you aren’t insured before 60, then you will not be able to get your retirement visa.
