A Busy Day and Celebrating Thai New Year with Friends

Our Wednesday routine got a festive twist this week as we joined our good friends Chai and Nan for their annual New Year’s party for their salon staff. This celebration is a tradition for them, and Chanya is always included because she worked with them before starting her own salon.

We started the day with a drive into Nong Khaem to pick up party supplies. While in the area, we took a nostalgic detour to check out our old house and chatted about rental options in this part of Bangkok. A roadside diner caught our attention for lunch, serving up delicious Thai food at local prices.

Next, it was time for our weekly shopping before heading back home to unpack and take mom to work. Then, we were off again to Kratum Baan for the party. The night was filled with laughter, food, and drinks, with a fun Secret Santa gift exchange that added to the festive mood. Being the designated driver, I kept my beer intake to a minimum, but the night was no less enjoyable.
