Here’s another insider look at the typical things ex-pats will find themselves sorting out if they choose to call Thailand home. Although the water authority in Thailand say the water supply system is fit for human consumption, there are millions of kilometres of underground water pipes which have been laid for many years before the upgrades to the supply centres. Parasites and other nasty organisms can lay dormant in these pipes for many years and cause health problems if they get dislodged for whatever reason. I feel that it is a high priority to do what you can to mitigate any foreign substances from the supply so fitting a filter system is the way to go.
