Continuing with our getting lost series for discovering Bangkok, our mate Jack said we should go check out the Phra Khanong Market, which is just down from W District. The Phra Khanong Market is tucked away behind Soi 71 off Sukhumvit Road and seemed relatively quiet, given the close proximity to Sukhumvit Road. We found a quiet eatery for lunch and then walked back up to Phra Khanong BTS to check out the W District. Although W District is an evening hive of activity, we could sense the vibe during our afternoon visit. There’s been a fair bit of news about the W District, most of it speculation, but some say the land is precious, whereas the buildings are falling down due to ground subsidence. The land owner wants to develop it, but the costs to do so are out of their reach.
