Is Boredom common for Retired People?

I was asked about how I dealt with boredom now that I’m retired and I didn’t have a work schedule. The only thing I can say is that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do, so I’m a long way off from being bored that’s for sure. I can also imagine what it would be like if I didn’t have interests outside that mundane work schedule. I was one of the lucky ones where work was something that entertained me greatly, but there were always mundane boring tasks that no one wants to do and you end up doing them because you can’t trust anyone else to do them properly! If you planning for retirement, one of the first things on that list would be ‘get some hobbies’ started and do that long before you plan to retire.
