Thai Style Apartment Living in the Suburbs

This is the first video I’ve made with a specific focus on some of the less reported helpful guides to living or visiting Bangkok. Here we are looking at some lesser-known options for short term accommodation which many Thai’s choose especially those from out of town. Renting a townhouse as we do is usually done on a 12-month lease and a foreigner would need to show a residency certificate to take up that sort of option. This also applies to the Thai out-of-town visitors who come to work in the Bangkok area for short terms. When I met Chanya, she was sharing one of these style accommodation with 3 of her girlfriends. We also looked at this type of accommodation when I first made the decision to visit regularly, but given that Chanya could get a 12-month lease, we chose the townhouse option which suited our needs better. As a foreigner, you will be very unlikely to get an option for these apartments as they are very Thai focused, but as with all things Thai, there are always ways around the technical details if you know the right people. If you are a close friend of ours, I’m sure we can work something out and get Chanya to take care of things.
