For part 2 of our Ayutthaya day trip, we stop off at the Ayutthaya Floating Market for a bit of lunch.
This is one tourist site that is designed for locals. It didn’t grow organically, it was built for pleasure. However, it has been constructed in the traditional style of a Thai floating market. Walkways surround the water and some boats ply their trade straight from the deck. I wasn’t at all pleased with the whole 2-Tier pricing for a place like this and as I mentioned in the video when this sort of thing happens in Thailand, don’t tip the vendors. The only way Thailand will change their 2 Tier pricing is if the vendors inside pressure the owners. This will happen if they see their income reduced from fewer tips.
