Today we’re just popping down to the local Big-C again to pick up a couple of things so I thought about giving everyone an update on our website, shared some thoughts on early retirement and talked about the whole YouTube game and their constant changes which frustrate everyone producing videos for that platform.

One of the interesting pieces I make reference to in this video is that I have my video storage on 3 platforms at the moment and I currently don’t pay a cent for that storage. As I come from a background in computer infrastructure, I can assure you that it isn’t free and someone needs to pay for it. This video was recorded last Thursday and only last night (Saturday) I received an email from one of those video storage hosts that they were closing down because they could no longer offer their services and continue to run at a loss given that they couldn’t keep up with the ongoing costs of that storage. There is a lot of speculation going around that the YouTube platform suffers a similar issue with the cost of storage and that at some point, they too will need to introduce a cost structure for the video storage on their platform. It may be only 3 years away before they pull the plug on free video hosting.
