Our Mothers Day in Thailand

Yes, the Queen’s Birthday in Thailand is the national mothers day holiday. As a special treat, I offered to take mom and Chanya and the other girls here out for lunch. Chanya picked out a quaint restaurant west of us called “tHe thREE LiTTle PiGs”.

But before we go and eat, which is part of the tradition, we stopped off at one of the Temples near us to make merit and a water blessing. Mother, Oi and Bom have been friends for over 30 years and the 3 are inseparable. They all work together with mom on the sewing thing in our house here, and in once sense, they are all my moms. It really is a stark contrast for me given that I grew up in a broken family and was never really close to any of my kin. This is my chosen family now and I wouldn’t swap it for anything.
