Thailand Motor Show 🇹🇭🚗 | Scooters, Electric vs Petrol & Too Many People!

Thailand Motor Show – Scooters, Electric vs Petrol & Too Many People!

The Thailand Motor Show took us to the Impact Challenger Arena this week, with a 100 baht entry fee — and right away we realised this was not the quiet day to visit. The carpark was full, the venue was packed, and we’d arrived on a public holiday celebrating King Rama IX’s birthday. In short, everyone was out.

I’m here with fellow YouTubers Jerry and Shawn, and we kick things off with a quick collab intro before facing the first decision of the day: eat first, or dive straight into the show? With crowds everywhere, visible banking booths lining the halls, and plenty of serious-looking buyers, it quickly feels like more than casual window shopping.

Scooters, Electric vs Petrol & Real Thailand Transport

Once the crowds became overwhelming, we split up and I focused on what really interests me — scooters. Living in Thailand, scooters make practical sense, and the Thailand Motor Show had a strong mix of petrol and electric models this year. From familiar names like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Lambretta, and Royal Alloy, to brands I’d never heard of such as MQi and Deco, there was plenty to compare.

We talk through whether owning transport in Thailand is actually necessary, how rentals fit into everyday life, and whether electric scooters are truly practical right now. I also stop by MG briefly, showing how traditional manufacturers are positioning themselves in a changing market.

With recent flooding in the south of Thailand, we speculate whether many visitors were replacing damaged vehicles or making insurance-backed purchases. That might explain the strong presence of banks and finance booths throughout the halls.

Before wrapping up, I give a quick shout-out to my Facebook group Thailand Vloggers Hub, because events like this are great places for creators to cross paths and share ideas.

We finish the day by catching up again with Jerry and Shawn. Final verdict? Interesting, but far too busy for comfort. Next time, we’ll definitely aim for a mid-week visit.
